As you can tell, Microsoft used the opportunity to remind its customers to switch to newer versions of its operating system as opposed to expecting security patches on the obsolete operating system. Microsoft of course assumes that you’ve “automatic updates” turned on inorder to receive the updates, otherwise, the patch serves you no good. Microsoft isn’t just going to seat there while the other companies have its lunch money just because it ended support of Windows XP. In another statement on the companies security response center blog, the company stated that “The security of our products is something we take incredibly seriously” in its defense of patching the security flaw on XP. The company continue to assert that ” IE is the safest in the world due to its secure development and ability to protect customers, even in the face of cybercriminals who want to break it.” which seems quite odd of course following the vulnerability.  Windows XP remains running about 26% of the world’s computers and this is something that Microsoft can’t simply ignore. Microsoft thinks that XP users should upgrade to the latest versions of IE since they supports modern web standard, better performance and have a tone of cool stuff;   Image: Digitaltrends
