Take a deep breath, all is now different. In the newest version of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.11.44), you will be able to disable the “read receipts.” Through accessing the privacy settings, the read receipts can be disabled –they are the ones that include details of every opened and read text sent over the messaging platform.
According to Android Police, the update is only available via WhatApp’s website although it’s safe to assume that it will be officially rolled out on the Android, iOS and Windows Phone stores sooner than later. Image via WhatsApp website
